Southern Immediate Care takes the privacy and security of all information within our possession very seriously and is providing notice of a recent event we are investigating that may involve patient information.
Southern Immediate Care identified unusual activity within an employee’s email account in April 2025. We investigated the activity immediately with assistance from cybersecurity specialists. On April 15, 2025, the investigation determined two mailboxes were accessed without authorization and information from the mailboxes could have been downloaded. We are reviewing those mailboxes to determine their specific contents but believe both mailboxes may contain patient information. We will be notifying individuals at the completion of the investigation if we determine their information was accessed during the period of unauthorized access. Please note we are not aware of any misuse or attempted misuse of any information arising from this event.
We value the trust our patients place in us. Our response to this activity includes investigating with cybersecurity specialists to confirm the nature and scope of activity within the email accounts and reviewing the mailboxes to determine the specific information at risk of unauthorized access so we can notify patients. We also continue to review our internal policies and procedures and to implement further measures as appropriate.
As noted above, our investigation is still ongoing. We will be notifying individuals at the conclusion of the investigation if we determine there was unauthorized access to their information.
