Jason Junkins, MD, FACP
Dr. Junkins was born and raised in Centre, Alabama and graduated from Cherokee County High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Jacksonville State University in 1991, and then attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, graduating in 1997. Dr. Junkins completed a residency in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama in 2001. He returned to northeast Alabama where he has practiced since. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Mary Rutherford, MD
Dr. Rutherford attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and graduated in 1979. She completed her internship in Family Medicine at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham the following year. After serving in the US Air Force, she completed her Family Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia in 1986. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and practices in our Attalla clinic.
Tara Howell, MD
Dr. Howell is a Georgia native and was raised in Dallas, Ga. She attended the University of Georgia and completed her Bachelors of Science in biology and genetics followed by medical school at Mercer University, in Macon, Ga. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Ga. She is board certified in Family Medicine and has sub-specialty training in aesthetic medicine. She currently resides in Carrollton, Ga., with her husband and four children. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
Natalie Lindell, MD
Dr. Lindell joined the SIC family in 2019 after practicing for 9 years in Calhoun County. She attended medical school at Mercer University in Macon Georgia. Dr Lindell completed a dual residency in adult internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Mississippi in Jackson Mississippi. She specializes in providing primary care by appointment for all ages from newborn to senior adults.
James Lombardo, PA
Jim has been a long history of caring for patients. He started his career in the US Navy in 1975 where he was a Navy Corpman on the USS Vancouver. He continued his training at the Naval School of Health Sciences in San Diego, California in 1977. He graduated the Physician Assistant program at Albany Medical College in 1984. He then moved to Gadsden and began working at Northeast Alabama Neurological Services in 1985 and has been here ever since.
Michael Gross, MSN, CRNP
Michael is well-known to the community as he has lived here his entire life. He began his career as a Radiologic Technologist. He later completed his nursing degree at Jacksonville State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2007. Michael received his Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing in 2010. Michael works primarily at the Attalla location and sees both primary care and urgent care patients.
Hallie McKnight, MSN, CRNP
Hallie joined Southern Immediate Care in July 2018. Hallie has a wealth of nursing experience that started while nursing at Gadsden Regional Medical Center where she worked in the SICU. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2003 followed by a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2004 where she received her training as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. In 2005, she received a Post Masters Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner training.
Destiny Tucker MSN, CRNP
She attended University of Alabama in Huntsville where obtained Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2010 followed by Master’s of Science in Nursing from University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2016 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family and enjoys traveling.
Jessica Mays, CRNP
Jessica Voss Mays, CRNP is a graduate of University of Alabama Birmingham. She attended her undergraduate studies at Jacksonville State University in 2005, where she graduated Sigma Theta Tau with a bachelors in Nursing. She received her Masters degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certificate in 2010. She was born and raised in Gadsden Alabama where she has worked at Gadsden Regional Medical Center for numerous years. She has spent the last 6 years working in orthopedics and also specializes in Occupational Medicine. Jessica is married and has five children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and participating in outdoor activities. She loves working with her patients and using the skills God has blessed her with to help others.
Kayla Wright, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC
Kayla Wright, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC is originally from Virginia and has been a Calhoun County resident for over 12 years. She graduated from Alexandria High School and went on to Jacksonville State University to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Nursing. Kayla is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is currently working on earning her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar, singing, running, traveling and tending to her honeybees.
